What is ThermaScanTM?

ThermaScan innovative technology sets new standards for the treatment of wrinkles and several other skin conditions.  ThermaScan is a special pulsed infrared laser that can selectively target the region in your skin responsible for improving collagen.

What will ThermaScan treatment do?

Your physician will use ThermaScan to treat wrinkles and other skin blemishes.  The wrinkles on your face, around your eyes and lips will soften as a result.  Your treatment will be tailored to match your skin condition and desired results.  You will notice long term improvement in your skin texture and tone.

What conditions can be treated with ThermaScan?

*Wrinkles   *Fine lines   *Aging Skin   *Hypertrophic scars   *Acne scars

How does ThermaScan work?

ThermaScan treatment uses an infrared laser to rejuvenate your skin from the inside out.  The laser energy delivered by the ThermaScan penetrates into the upper layers of skin.  The energy absorbed by the targeted areas stimulates the fibroblast cells in your skin to begin generating collagen.  Collagen and elastin fibers continue to multiply after your treatment, and you will see improving results over the months ahead.  This treatment helps restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it softer, smoother and more vibrant.

What areas can be treated?

ThermaScan therapy is effective on all skin types and tones.  The most common areas those most exposed to the damaging effects of the sun light and wind.  The most popular treatments are for the face, around the eyes, mouth and cheeks.

How many treatments will I need?

Clinical studies suggest that at least two treatments are needed to stimulate new collagen growth and most people will begin to see benefits by the fourth treatment.  Doctors may recommend regular touch-up treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen as you age.

How long will it take to recover?

There is virtually no downtime associated with the procedure.  After a session, the area treated may appear red for about an hour.  However, makeup can immediately be applied.  No wound is created, therefore, no healing time is required.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Typically you will experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours.  Results vary depending on your condition, number of treatments and area treated.  Your physician will provide you with complete information about the post treatment effects and results.

Will it be uncomfortable?

ThermaScan laser treatment is gentle and non-invasive.  There should be minimal discomfort.  You may feel a warming of the skin or a rubber band snap like sensation as the procedure is performed.  However, this varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of the treatment.  A topical anesthetic cream can be used on extra-sensitive areas.  However, no injections are needed.

What will happen during the procedure?

It is important to follow your physican's instructions.  You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them.  This will minimize your risk of inflammation or redness and ensure the shortest recovery time.  You must avoid direct sun exposure.  Fully cover your skin or use a good sunscreen whenever you go outdoors.
